There are two types of oil-air separation elements: wound and pleated. Wound oil-air separation elements have a high dust holding capacity and a long service life. They can adsorb more impurities before the element becomes completely clogged, making them particularly suitable for environments with poor inlet air quality or average lubricant quality. Their loose structure results in low initial resistance to airflow, allowing the air compressor to overcome the resistance of the separator with lower energy consumption during the initial operation, which contributes to energy savings. Pleated oil-air separation elements offer higher filtration precision. Their precision surface barrier efficiently captures micron and sub-micron-sized oil mist particles. This not only reduces the oil content in the compressed air but also minimizes lubricant consumption, saving costs for the user. Furthermore, the pleating process significantly increases the effective filtration area. Within a housing of the same size, a larger filtration area can be designed, providing a lower initial pressure drop and higher flow capacity.
